The lifespan of a nanowire

I have an important discovery to announce. The lifespan of Si nanowires is, as their name suggests, in nanoseconds... All my devices die after 1 or 2 measurements! Sigh... Talking to them doesn't work either. What shall I do?

it is better for them to rest in peace or else they will reallly start to grow on people's head.
